If a child falls out of a tree and breaks their arm...we wouldn't be surprised; it's a natural consequence of a negative event (falling out of a tree.) So we go to the emergency room to "put it back" to it's original state...so it can function at an optimal level; we don't just leave it broken and say "oh well, that's what happens if you fall out of a tree.
Similarly, we shouldn't be surprised when adults show symptoms of childhood trauma; symptoms are a natural consequence of negative events. So, just like going to the emergency room for a broken arm, it's possible to go to a psychological emergency room to get back to your best self and function at an optimal level.
Here's the best possible news. Since we actually create the problems in our mind (not a judgement, just a fact)......... we can uncreate them!

To change emotional issues, we have to get past the "baby gate" or guard and "go downstairs." Talking about our feelings in the conscious, analytical mind doesn't change them; that's why talk therapy takes years and a lot of people simply give up.
